Transit of Io - December 07, 2000  06:31 - 07:31 UT

I shot a series of images for over an hour catching the transit of Io and its shadow to the meridian.  Luckily, the Great Red Spot was also present.  Each of these frames consists of 3-5 frames from a group of 10 shot taken with a mean time given below.  All were 0.15 second exposures.  Processing was done via AstroStack to combine, Unsharp Mask and Cittirt deconvolution.  A further Unsharp mask, cropping, and resizing were done in MaximDL.

The disc of Io is very clear in the first 7-8 frames then becomes much harder to see as it approaches the meridian.  As you can see, the shadow transit started by 6:35- (predicted at 6:34) and the Great Red Spot transits at 6:53+ (predicted 6:54).
