Lunar 35mm Photography

This is the 92% partial eclipse of March 23, 1997. This photo was taken at maximum eclipse at 8:39 p.m. PST. It was shot at prime focus f/10 on my C5+ using Kodak Gold 400 film for 7 seconds. Exposures of 5-15 seconds seemed to work very well for this eclipse.

Here are two shots of the crescent moon taken on December 13, 1996 and December 14, 1996. The left picture was shot at f10 prime focus on the C5+ with a 1/60 second exposure on T-Max 400 film. The print is a little lighter looking than the scanned image. This was my first night ever shooting pictures with the scope. The right shot is a wider crescent taken with a 1/125 second exposure on T-Max 400 film.

This is first quarter moon shot on December 16, 1996. Again, these were prime focus shots. The left shot was at a 1/125 second exposure and the right shot was at 1/250 second exposure, both on T-Max 400 film

This is just after first quarter on December 18, 1996. Again, a prime focus f/10 shot at 1/250s on T-Max 400 film.

This is the nearly full moon shot on Christmas evening 1996. It wastaken f/10 at 1/1000s on T-Max 400 film.

These two were taken on December 18, 1996 just after first quarter. Both use Barlow projection. These images were slightly out of focus but I sharpened them via software after the scanning and they came out much better. Both were taken at 1/30s on T-Max 400 film.

These two images were taken on January 14, 1997 and January 15, 1997 just around first quarter moon. Both are at prime focus f/10. The first is at 1/125s and the second at 1/250s exposure on T-Max 400 film.

These two shots right around full moon were taken on January 24 and January 25, 1997. Again, both were prime focus f/10 shots on T-Max 400 film and both used a 1/1000s exposure.
Here's a 20mm eyepiece projection shot taken at first quarter on January 15, 1997. It was shot at f/45 with a 1/15s exposure.

Here's a prime focus shot using Kodak Gold 400 color film, a 1/125s exposure on February 28, 1997. I used this to focus for my Hale-Bopp photos.

A new one of the moon, shot on Kodak MAX400 film, a 1/125s exposure at f/10 on October 19, 2000.  This was shot with my Celestron C5+.
