Tim & Catherine's Great Glacier Adventure

Day 4 - Upper Two Medicine to Two Medicine Campground

We headed back to the campground via the south-side trail today with side-stops at Twin Falls and Aster Falls.

We got up early, cooked breakfast, broke camp and hit the trail.  Our first detour was to Twin Falls, a very short hike about 1.5 miles into our day.   The big excitement of the day though was the suspension bridge at the #13 above on the map.  Here's Catherine crossing the bridge fully loaded...

Our big animal sighting today came a bit later, it was a ruffled grouse that was hanging out on the trail in front of us.  In the same area we also saw a bear poop but no bear.

We kept going and finally hit the trail to Aster Falls, another fine detour for the day's hike.  After a short climb where we met the ranger led hike we arrived at the falls just in time to have it to ourselves for a bit and to eat lunch.

Continuing after lunch we found many beautiful beaver ponds along the lake's south side.  Here's one that was especially pretty...

We arrived back at Two Medicine Camp Store just in time for me to get an ice cream bar...

We got to the car and headed into East Glacier where we heard rumors of good showers at the laundy.  After showering we loaded up on ice, chips, salsa, and beer and headed back to the Two Medicine Picnic Area to pig out at the side of the lake.

Oh yeah, the mosquitoes were absolutely horrible in the whole  Two Medicine Valley, we were covered with bites from head to toe after spending two full days and three nights there.  We were ready to go find new ground and, hopefully, less bugs.
