We spend a lot of time kayaking and hiking the coastal areas of Puget Sound and I'm always drawn to the trees that are on the ridges and headlands. One of my first recent oil paintings and my first pastel painting were tree portraits and since that time I've been drawn to trees as subjects.
The following paintings are all 11x14 using Rembrandt and Sennelier soft pastels on LaCarte pastel paper. They were all done after a family hike at Ebbey's Landing one bright spring day and they showed at the DharmaWorks Studio opening.
