The Methow Valley is a hidden treasure nestled on the east slopes of the North Cascades. The Methow River carves a valley 70 miles long and it flows through the small towns of Mazama, Winthrop, and Twisp which are the recreation centers for the region. The summers offer excellent hiking, mountain biking, and fly fishing; the winters offer some of the best cross country skiing in the country. The landscape there is just made for pastels - the golds, blues and greens of summer and the muted blue, purple, and white of winter. The valley has quickly become one of my favorite places to do pastel work.
