The Yakima Valley is one of my favorite places in all of Washington state. The Yakima River starts at Snoqualmie Pass and runs down the east-slopes of the Cascades through Cle Elum, Thorp and Ellensburg before entering the Yakima Canyon.   I spend a lot of time wading the Yakima River and walking its banks in search of wild rainbow trout.    Along with being my "home river" for fly fishing it has become one of my favorite places to do pastel work through all of the seasons.
